Dinan /
This
month in iShift, we share an opinion piece
written by our President James O'Dea
in response to the growing movement for a Department
of Peace. As he makes clear in this iShift
exclusive, a Department of Peace can make rational and
scientific sense, while also advancing key insights
from the consciousness movement in a truly trans-partisan
way.
We
also feature an historic first - ten playing cards in
a row guessed correctly on film, three new Essential
Shifts transcripts from our interviews with Don
Beck, Marilyn Schlitz, and Michael
B. Beckwith, and a Community Network event
in Florida called "The Emergent Heart Field Phenomenon."
Anyone
who is not yet a member of Shift in Action program can
still join for a trial
month for only $1 and receive Dean Radin's
new book Entangled Minds, a CD, and a Director's
Sampler DVD from What the Bleep's
Down the Rabbit Hole.

IONS
President James O'Dea on the proposed Department of
Peace - "I support a Department of Peace
because it is an eminently sane and reasonable initiative,
it can help government direct resources towards the
goal of peace, it can utilize the best science to help
us all attain our optimal development and it can provide
opportunities for practice in collaboration, dialogue,
mutual respect, and reconciliation without which peace
cannot take root."
Volunteers have begun transcribing more than 30 Essential
Shifts interviews. We share three this month:
Don
Beck - "One point of view says that we are
simply setting up the conditions for a major shift.
So rather than doom and gloom, Chicken Little thinking,
one could say these are simply symptoms of deeper problems,
tectonic-like shifts."
Marilyn Schlitz - "There has never been such
a rate of accelerated convergence, and by that I mean
that there are different world views, belief systems,
ways of engaging reality that are now coming together
at a rate and a pace and an intensity that have never
existed in world history before."
Michael B. Beckwith - "The average
person has a tremendous amount of static that prevents
him from hearing something that's always guiding and
speaking and pulling us to the next level of our evolution.
And that static includes fear, doubt, worry, a sense
of separation, a feeling that there is not enough time,
a feeling that there are not enough resources, that
we live in some kind of lack in some way."
If
you'd like to volunteer to transcribe three and receive
free Shift in Action memberships, contact Jeff Kihn
at jeffkihn@noetic.org.

month, we share an historic top ten with you -
the first time ten playing cards in a row have

The two individuals featured above
train two hours a day to accomplish such feats
and are now under more rigorous, controlled study
by Dean Radin in our labs. The footage comes from
an IONS staff meeting where Dean shuffled the
cards before the two proceeded to get 19 of 20
correct, including the run of ten. This could
be the Holy Grail of psi-research – effects
large enough to compel even skeptical observers
in the moment. Stay tuned for more research!

Swami
Beyondananda Answers Your Questions - and You Will
Question His Answers
Dear
Swami:
How do we shift Western culture away from causing
global warming?
Helen Highwater, Annapolis, Maryland
Dear Helen:
Well, the first thing is we have to shift our
lifestyle from things that cause more global
warming to things that reduce it. So I propose
a slogan: "Global warming just ain't
cool." I see a cartoon where Mother Earth
has the hand of a young boy, who is pointing
longingly at a brand new Humvee, and she is
saying, "I'm sorry son, but your
mother just can't afford that right now."
Meanwhile, we have to take on the mission to
"re-grow the Garden from the grassroots
up" and begin to plant the green things
that will help transform carbon dioxide into
oxygen. Like trees. They are rooting for us,
you know. And - back to lifestyle - we need
to make a new fashion statement that the Earth
can wholeheartedly agree with. No more of this
close-cropped brush cut. The Earth is ready
to grow her forests long again.
Finally, we must deal with the issue of overpopulation,
and I think I have the answer: multiple personalities.
Think about it. When you cram two, three or
even a dozen personalities into one body, think
of how much less food we'd need, not to
mention the extra space. It's just mathematical
logic: If we had more multiple personalities,
we'd need fewer people!

Connections / Monthly Intention |
|
November
Intention:
The
first of every month at noon (US Pacific), we
encourage you to take a quiet moment to link your
intention with people around the world. This month,
our intention is in support of releasing what
no longer serves. Together, we affirm that we
are each releasing any patterns, fears, or negative
conditioning that does not serve us in shifting
to the next level of conscious life.
November
Action:
This month, we encourage you
to choose one action that helps you go beyond
a sense of limitation. What can you accomplish
that you never believed possible?
November
Question for Reflection:
What would you choose
to do if you believed yourself capable of achieving
it?
This month's member intention was emailed to us
from TreeStory:
"My intention is to see, smell,
and hear Fall. To be particularly aware that it
is in this time of year that mother earth's gifts
are most profoundly felt. All the green she has
created over the spring and summer falls away
so that we may take to our breath and body all
the energies released from that transformation."
If
you'd like to offer an intention for next month,
please send it here.
