Schlitz / Meditation:
An Integral Perspective, Ph.D. (from Shift 11) The times
we live in are challenging us in many ways. We have
snail mail, voice mail, and email. We have TiVo, iPods,
and C-SPAN. The news is unrelenting, the pace of our
days exhausting, and the feast of opportunities seemingly
endless-no matter how full we already feel. Given all
the complexities, where do we find refuge? One increasingly
popular answer is meditation, the practice of simply
stopping long enough to watch our breath, clear our
minds, calm our nervous systems, and attend to balancing
our life. More..

Monthly
Intention |
June Inspiration
This
month we focus on integration. Often when we become
part of "new paradigm" circles, we deny the value
of what has preceded us. Our enthusiasm for innovation
begins to supercede our respect for history. And
yet, evolution usually builds upon the past. The
long march of time might convert a leg to a wing
or even a hand but it's rare for major traits
to vanish entirely. Similarly, as we evolve consciously,
our task is not just to articulate new paradigms
but to find an honorable place for what has gone
before. Can we re-engage with tradition-oriented
religions with respect? Can we see the great value
in corporate behemoths, even as we evolve more
nimble, sustainable, and conscious forms of commerce?
We suggest that a truly integral vision sees what
has preceded us with eyes of respect and love.
June Question for Reflection
What
can you reintegrate from your "old paradigm" life
in a fuller way? What might bring you joy and
aliveness that might not be considered particularly
conscious? Collectively, what can we do to honor
tradition more adequately even as we work for
change?
IONS
monthly intentions for a global shift in consciousness
- Picture
the world as it is today, knowing that I am a part of this
planet's evolutionary design. I choose to live to my fullest
capacity in a spirit of openness, intellectual integrity,
and freedom.
- I
am conscious that I have a role in the unfolding story of
humanity. I am connected to the whole. My intentions find
a deep resonance in the hearts and minds of others.
- Together,
we stir the depths of human ingenuity, creativity, and collective
healing. Together, we are part of an evolutionary pulse
bringing into focus our collective responsibility for planet
Earth and its diverse peoples.
- My
intention is to be in a place of wisdom, compassion, and
abiding exuberance for serving our common work and the greater
good.
Each month we honor one of our members by including
their intention:
This
month's intention comes to us from Douglas Bonar: "I
intend to live more authentically, centered in my Wisdom,
emanating from my Divine Essense (which is the real Me), and
thus transforming all around me through entrainment to my
loving energies. I intend to continue on this path of personal
and planetary transformation. Deeper and deeper. And so it
is."
If you'd like to offer an intention for next month, please
send to stephendinan@noetic.org
