| A Fundraising Gala at the Chabot
Space and Science Center
Oakland, California, February 20th, 2010
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED to experience a visit to the stars and then into your
consciousness with ancient cosmology, a moon flight, and an inner
spiritual journey.
IMAGINE
THAT YOU are in the cockpit of Apollo 14 with astronaut
Edgar Mitchell, awed as you gaze through the
capsule window at Earth. It was on his return trip from the moon that Dr. Mitchell
had his spiritual breakthrough, and now you can experience the
impact of that epiphany in the Chabot Space and Science Center
planetarium as we celebrate
the power and potentials of consciousness to birth a new worldview.
FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS, Native American cosmology sought understanding
from the language of stars beyond reach. Just 39 years ago, Dr.
Mitchell
realized during his space flight that reality is more complex,
subtle, and
mysterious than conventional science had led him to believe. His outward exploration
compelled him to look inward,
and his revelation became the birth of IONS.
THIS
SPECIAL EVENING will include an adventure in the Chabot
planetarium with lasers and amazing sights and
sounds. You’ll experience Native American cosmology with Nancy Maryboy and David
Begay;
travel with Dr. Mitchell as he shares his space adventure; journey inward with
Siddha
Master Sri Dattatreya Siva Baba; and
marvel at how it all comes together with cosmologist Brian Swimme.
AT
THIS GALA FUNDRAISER you’ll
also hear IONS President Marilyn Schlitz preview the Institute’s
plans for 2010, including the IONS World Tour, research updates,
educational initiatives,
a new slate of teleseminar programs, and the redesign of our website—to
launch this coming April!
AN EXCITING AUCTION will include an American flag that traveled
to the moon with Dr. Mitchell, a week’s
vacation in a Spanish villa, and a personal psychic assessment. All this
and a gourmet dinner and dessert buffet, graciously sponsored
by Men’s Wearhouse.
ANCIENT TRADITIONS. Modern science. Shared destiny. Individually
and collectively, we can take responsibility for creating a more
peaceful and healthy future. You can help. Please support our work
to explore and apply the power
and potentials of human consciousness. And tell your friends about our
mission and this one-of-a-kind event!
Tickets include the planetarium program, presentations,
auction, dinner, and the dessert buffet.
